WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of the item by +3. A random additional substat is also increased with every upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as valuable for the latter due to the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader mod upgrader enables players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item upgrades used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current level of the equipment being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items which can be used to upgrade weapons tools, armor, and other accessories. Players can purchase them from item upgraders NPCs in a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which displays an image of the item when it is upgraded in the event that the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the item Level upgrade slot, and the current level of the item. For instance, weapons will cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level, it can be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.

Many locations offer item upgraders which include the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and a possibility of obtaining a new recipe. The discount for upgrades increases with the number of items that are being upgraded. It can also be boosted by having players complete some specific achievements or quests.

Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no item upgrader available at the start of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that can be used to upgrade are acquired via several methods which is both an improvement and a drawback.

In Season 3, the upgrade system has been altered a bit, with numerous new features added. Once an upgrade has been completed to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This is true even if those items come from an entirely different set of equipment.

The discount applies to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievements.

Crests

When upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a variety of choices. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

The first thing to be aware of is that crests can only be used to purchase gear of a specific rank, and that each rank has its own requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and easiest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade can require up to 20 crests, depending on the type or equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing tasks at the appropriate level. This could be by doing outdoor activities, or by completing dungeons and raids in all difficulties to get lower-tier gear or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons with heroic difficulty for gear in the endgame. These crests are then exchanged with an upgrader for the item such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.

The use of these currencies isn't too complicated, but the system introduces some changes to the overall upgrade process. For example, once an item level upgrade is at the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This is to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters, instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

Another notable modification is that crests have one purpose and it's crucial to use them properly. It's best to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the Best item upgrade gear that you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly applicable to rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which will only be able to avail the discount for all accounts when all slots are full of high-quality gear.
