Path of Exile Item Upgrading

In Path of Exile, item upgrading is one of the best ways to improve your equipment without relying on massive drops or trade. This article will teach you how to upgrade your gear.

Upgrades to equipment provide an increase in the item's stats. The bonus increases with upgrade component level and rarity.

Components

Upgrade components are the parts that improve your armor and weapons better. You can find them by destroying enemies, purchasing them from karma vendors or finding them in items-spheres. They can also be salvaged from equipment that has them, or through a high-tier salvage kit like the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components cannot be destroyed when they are removed from an item upgrader mod.

Upgrade components are typically used to upgrade an item, but they can also be used for other purposes. They can be used to increase the quality of an upgradeable item or they can be used to enhance the experience gained when upgrading an existing weapon or piece of gear. They can also be forged to provide extra bonuses. A glyph that has been crafted can increase the upgrade chances of its target, while an upgrade boosts the attack or defense attributes of the weapon.

You can attach an upgrade item template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. This will show an upgrade component list that the item can be upgraded to. Alternatively, you can use the workbench to select an upgrade template. In either scenario, an item will be upgraded once enough upgrade components have been collected.

Each component has a different experience multiplier, which affects how much more experience an item gets when it upgrades with that component. For instance, organic components have a more experience multipliers than mechanical ones. You should upgrade organic components first until you reach the next rank in the weapon or equipment, and then switch to the mechanical upgrades.

In addition to the multiplier for experience every item also has a maximum number of upgrades that it can receive. The number of upgrades is determined by its upgradeable rank and the type of upgrade available to the upgradeable item. The highest level of upgrade is a weapon that is the tier 10. However, the most common upgrade for weapons is the tier 6 weapon and an armor upgrade of tier 5.

Sets

A set is a group of items which share a bonus. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least once, and the upgrade increases the guaranteed bonuses. The first time you upgrade an item, its initial stat will be +1. On subsequent upgrades the primary stats will be boosted a bit further (for example, +1 up to 12+/13+/14+), and each time you upgrade the item with an additional stats will be increased randomly.

Upgrading a weapon can also increase the damage base, which can be important for some builds. However, weapons can't be upgraded to have a higher defense level than their base. Upgrades can be a great option to increase the value of a set and unique items, however it's important to note that they may not be better than a high-level runeword in any build.

If you're upgrading an item that has a bonus the item can be rerolled one time and the guarantee will reset back to 0. The same amount of power dies are used to roll an item, just as it is used to upgrade it. However the new item comes with different bonuses. The NPC [Armor] Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you will require a power dice of each kind (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; dice 7 drops from bosses) and the proper amount of Minerals and Erons. These can be bought with Gold at the crafting table, or in the Ultra Collection. The NPC will also offer an additional reward for each completed tier of the upgrade process. This reward is rerollable once and will be made using the same materials used in the original item.

Rerolling

A player is able to play rerolling any Item Upgrader Kit that they acquire in the game if they have enough reroll tokens to be able to do so. When an item is rerolled it will be replaced by a level 1 version in another set. Reroll tokens can be purchased in the store for a small amount of in-game currency. They cannot be refunded. The upgraded item will still have the extra bonuses of the first however its stats will be different as well.

Players can alter the identification of equipment in addition to changing it's roll by interfacing with a NPC upgrader. This will change its identification as a weapon to armor or reverse the process. The basic requirements and stats will remain the same. The change is permanent and will affect all characters who own the gear in question.

Players can also boost the level of their item on any equipped equipment by acquiring upgrade components and communicating with the upgrader NPC of the item. The cost will vary depending on the upgrade track, item type and number of crests. Each step will give 5% more damage to weapons.

Upgrades can increase the capability of an item, but they also decrease the quality of an item. Therefore, it is important to strike a balance between the two. Some items aren't worth upgrading, while other items require upgrades to reach their full potential. For example an individual player may want to upgrade a piece breakpoint armor that comes with an interesting modifier ( percent chance of blocking or FHR) to discover what it could become.

Rerolling is a popular practice in Genshin Impact and other gacha-based games. People do it to try to obtain the character or weapon that they wouldn't otherwise have. These items can be costly and time-consuming, and the RNG gods aren't always willing to cooperate. The only choices left are to invest real money or grind lots. Rerolling is a popular feature in Genshin Impact.

Leveling

When upgrading an item, you can upgrade the weapon or armor. This feature is not available in the current version of the game. I believe that this feature was designed to increase the value of expensive and rare items. However, since the majority of gear is replaced fairly quickly, and can only be leveled up one level, you'll usually replace it before it gets too old. It's not worth it to upgrade items with gem sockets as the power of the gem will far outweigh the increased ilvl that comes with the upgrade.

When you click on the upgrade option on an item upgrader mod, you will be presented with a small window displaying the upgrade template for the item and the cost of crest and Valorstone to increase the item level. The cost will differ between the armor and weapons as well, with the former typically costing more than the latter. The upgrade template outlines the stats that will be added to the upgraded item. It it also lists the current ilvl.

The crest and Valorstone costs are calculated based on the item's current ilvl and the upgrade template. Additionally the ilvl of a new upgraded item will be reduced by the template's lvl reduction percentage. For instance, a weapon with an increase of 8% will reduce its value by 8-8 percent.

In addition to the base ilvl boost the item will also get upgrades in other stats like critical strike damage, PvE damage, block, parry and dodge rating. These enhancements are also based on the upgrade template.

The amount of damage and defense that the item upgrader will receive when it is leveled can be shown below the upgrade cost and decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. In addition to practice equipment, all items and armor get the same stats once leveled up. The value of these additional stats will be dictated by the market, with a perfectly rolled piece of armor or weapon is able to command higher trade values than non-upp'd versions. The same applies to other pieces of armor like circlets and tiaras.
