World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses like PvE damage and crit chance.

For instance an item with the upgrade template that is ending in % will gain an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into weapons, armor, and trinkets in order to provide a stat bonus or extra impact while they're being used. These can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be used on devices that have slots. The item must be upgraded to blue level before the component can be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and Enrichments are kind of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascending equipment, as other items that are not ascended. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it's applied to (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions using fewer Upgrade crystals than they require to reach the same level using normal methods.

A boost upgrade can change the attack or defence characteristics of the weapon or armor. These upgrades can be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. They can be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear or purchasing them from the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals each.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of the item will be revealed at the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their equipment even in the event that they don't know what can be improved upon a reset.

The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process may be costly and there is a high chance that the item could be obsolete or even break when it fails; a failure to upgrade can cause the destruction of Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items that increase or even eliminate the chances of failure, as well as some upgrades that provide an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade components that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the effectiveness of all nodes in a radius around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in many ways, and we recommend upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as possible.

You'll often see in the endgame that putting Glyphs is a great way to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes faster.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without any restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the many Glyphs, and there are also a few rare Glyphs that can be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

When you have the desired Glyphs, you will have to attach them to your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus that boosts the stats of a particular set of nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

The use of a Glyph can boost all nodes connected to it, so you should aim to place your Glyphs close to key nodes on the Graph to maximise the impact. Druids, for example should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also want to consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrade system allows players to boost the stats of specific items by inserting upgraded components. This is often referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of item requires different components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used for leveling up an item upgrader mod. Once enough points are earned, you will be able to claim your upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.

When an item is upgraded by a player to a higher level, the original Best item upgrader is replaced with a new item of the same kind. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item will also have its own set bonus. This could be a disadvantage, as the item can increase in price even if you do not require it.

The upgrades to items can be rerolled, if the player has enough reroll tokens to do this. The item will be replaced by an entirely new item that has a base of level 1 and completely different bonuses. This is a good idea however it should not be used frequently as it could waste resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled several times which increases their value and allows the player to modify their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides buffs when the player continuously enters or exits the water. This can be upgraded several times, each time increasing the max roll by an increment of 10. This item can be very valuable in PvP, as a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its value if it is not upgraded.

Requirements

The upgrade of items allows players to boost the level of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate items and currency to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces increase its base defense and weapon upgrades items increase their base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade an item, it is given a chance to fail--the rate of failure increases as you go over the maximum number of upgrades. Failures can result in the item reverting to its initial condition, which requires the user to spend more money on materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.

If an item upgrader mod fails to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it has gained, such as the chance to crit damage to attack, other effects (such as a higher healing rate over time, or reloading speed). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded gains a crit chance increase that it will be applied prior to any attack damage increases. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the item's definition and the value is calculated each time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item are dependent on its rarity score and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to its base value. For example an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades at a cost. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items have a lower cost per upgrade.

Premium items might have different upgrade requirements from standard gear. For instance, they may need less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. Players will still have to bring every piece of gear they want to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each equipment upgrade requires a different amount of the ingredients for upgrading.
