It was after leaving her full-time job during lockdown that Catherine Sweet had a 'now or never' moment.

Blessed with a creative mindset, the self-taught artist had already begun producing her own abstract designs on canvas. Using acrylic, outils netlinking oils and a range of other materials and believing there was a strong demand for art like hers that was beautiful, original but - crucially - affordable, in May 2021 she used GoDaddy to start her own online business, BobCat Gallery.

Catherine now uses the site to sell her own artwork alongside handmade, original works by other artists she commissions herself. Everything costs under £500, including shipping.

'I want my customers to know they can own something unique and beautiful without breaking the bank,' she says.

'But I don't push my artists to create the same thing again and again if they don't want to. If they are not happy with what they are creating, our customers won't be happy either.'
