Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The most effective way to upgrade your equipment in Path of Exile is through upgrading your items. This allows you to upgrade your gear without having depend on costly trades or drops. This article will show you how to upgrade your gear.

Upgrades to equipment provide an additional bonus to the item's stats. This bonus scales based on the rarity and quality of the upgrade component.

Components

Upgrade components make your weapons and armour better. You can locate them by destroying enemies, purchasing them from karma vendors or finding them in items-spheres. They can also be salvaged from equipment that contains them, or by utilizing a high-tier salvage kit like the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Contrary to other products upgrades aren't destroyed when removed from an item.

Upgrade components are primarily used to improve an item but they can also be used for other reasons. They can be used to boost the value of an item that can be upgraded or they can be used to increase the experience gained when upgrading an existing weapon or piece of equipment. They can also be forged to offer additional benefits. A glyph that is crafted can boost the chances of upgrading its target while a boost upgrade items increases the attack or defense capabilities of the weapon.

You can connect an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. This will show an upgrade component list that the item can be upgraded to. Alternately, you can use the workbench to select an upgrade template. In either scenario, an item will be upgraded after enough upgrade components have been gathered.

Each component has a unique experience multiplier. This determines the amount of experience an item gains when upgraded using that component. For instance, organic components offer more experience multipliers than mechanical ones. It is recommended to upgrade organic components first until you reach the next rank in the weapon or equipment, then switch to mechanical upgrades.

Each item comes with an upgrade limit number that can be received. The number of items that can be upgraded is determined by their upgradeable rank, and the kind of upgrade they are able to receive. The highest level of upgrade is a weapon with the tier 10. However, the most common upgrade for weapons is an tier 6 weapon as well as an armor upgrade of tier 5.

Sets

A set is a group of items that have bonuses. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least one time, and the upgrade increases the guaranteed bonuses. When you first upgrade the set piece or weapon, it will receive a +1 increase to its primary stat. After subsequent upgrades, the primary stats are increased even more (for instance the +1 bonus for 12+/13+/14+) and every time an item is upgraded one of its additional stats is increased randomly.

Upgrading a weapon can also increase the damage base, which could be crucial for certain builds. Weapons can't be upgraded for a higher maximum defence roll than their base. It is possible to increase the value of certain set and unique items by upgrading them, however they might not always be superior to a high-level Runeword.

If you are upgrading an item upgrader mod with bonuses it can be rerolled once and the guarantee will reset back to zero. The same power dies are used to reroll an item as it is used to level it up. However the new item comes with different bonuses. Upgrading can be done by visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item you will require the proper amount of Minerals and Erons and a power dice of each kind. These are available at the crafting table or in the Ultra Collector, and can be purchased using Gold. The NPC will also provide an extra reward for each completed tier of the upgrade process. The reward can be rerolled a single time with the same materials and components as the first item.

Rerolling

If players have enough rerolling tokens, they can reroll any item that they have acquired during the game. When an item is rerolled it will be replaced with the same level in another set. Reroll tokens are sold in the shop for a small amount of in-game currency. They are non-refundable. The upgraded item will have the same bonuses of the original one, but its stats will differ as well.

Players can alter the identification of equipment in addition to rolling it again by interacting with an upgrader NPC. The equipment's identification will change as a weapon to armor, or reverse it. The base requirements and stats remain the same. The change is permanent and will affect all characters that are wearing the gear.

Players can also increase the item level of any equipped equipment by obtaining upgrade components and communicating with the item's upgrader NPC. It will cost a specific number of crests and Valorstones depending on the upgrade track and item type. For weapons, each step will add an additional 5% to its damage.

An upgrade will make it more powerful however it can also decrease its quality. It is therefore important to keep both in check. Some items aren't worth upgrading, while others require upgrading to make them more effective. One player may wish to upgrade their breakpoint armor using an interesting modification ( percent block chance or FHR) in order to see what else it can be.

The primary reason why people are able to reroll in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game is because they're trying to obtain a particular weapon or character that they aren't able to obtain. Getting these items can be expensive and time-consuming and the RNG gods aren't always willing to play ball. The only options left are to invest real money or grind lots. This is why rerolling is a very popular option in Genshin Impact.

Leveling

When upgrading an item you can choose to increase the level of the weapon or armor. This feature is not available in the current version of the game. I believe it was intended to be a way to increase the value of rare items, but since the majority of gear drops quickly and is only upgraded after a certain amount of levels and you'll typically replace the item before it becomes old enough. It's not worth it to upgrade items with gem sockets as the power of the gem will be greater than the increase in ilvl with the upgrade.

You will see a small window when you click on the upgrade option for an item. It will display the template of the item, the Crest, as well as the Valorstone cost to raise the item's level. Armor and weapons will have different prices, with the latter usually being more expensive. The upgrade template lists the stats that will be added to an upgraded item, and also the current base ilvl.

The crest and Valorstone costs are calculated based on the item's current ilvl as well as the upgrade template. The ilvl is also reduced by the upgrade item templates reduction percentage for lvl. For instance, a weapon with an upgrade decrease of 8% will decrease its value by 8-8 percent.

In addition to the increase in ilvl base it will also be upgraded in other stats such as critical strike damage, PvE damage, dodge, block and parry rating. These enhancements are also based on the upgrade template.

In the upgrade template, you can check the amount of damage or defense the item will be able to sustain after it is leveled up. This is shown below the cost as well as the upgrade percentages. Aside from practice equipment, all items and armor get these same stats when upgraded. The value of these additional stats will be dictated by the market, with a perfectly perfectly rolled piece of armor or weapon is able to command higher trade values than non-upp'd versions. The same is true for other pieces of armor, such as circlets and tiaras.
