WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.

Upgraded gear generally sees greater value for trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item upgrading used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in every major city, and can be visited anytime to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

Upgrades can cost more based on the item upgrade level, but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades to item level upgrade owners for various currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon or armor. The button will display a preview of an item's next level of upgrade, in the event that there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the item slot, and the current level of the item. For example weapons cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currencies.

A lot of locations offer upgraders for items, including the main Island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon as well as the chance to obtain an entirely new recipe. The upgrade discount increases depending on the amount of items that are being upgraded. It is also possible to be increased by requiring players to complete specific achievements or quests.

Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items available at the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only available through a variety means. This is both a benefit and an issue.

In Season 3 the upgrade system was altered a bit, with some new features added. After the player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This is even if those items come from an entirely different set of equipment.

The discount is available to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievements.

Crests

Players have several options when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.

The first thing to note is that crests are only able to be used to purchase equipment of a particular rank, and that each rank has its own requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and simplest upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the more complex one can require as much as 20 crests based on the type of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through working through tasks at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in all difficulty levels to obtain equipment of lower tier or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons that have a high difficulty for gear in the endgame. These crests can be exchanged with an item upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and routes.

The new currency system isn't complicated to use, but it will bring some modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

Another notable modification is that crests have one purpose, so it's important to use them wisely. For instance it's Best item upgrader to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment available and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan to create. This is especially relevant for items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The discount for the entire account will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
