World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items can be used to improve the stats of a particular item. Based on the type of upgrade you choose, it may increase the rarity of an Best item upgrader or mark Level, and also boost other stats.

Upgrades to equipment in The War Within requires a certain number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a set amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's base stats increases as it is upgraded. The value is the sum of all of an item's leveled-up perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive depending on the person you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to the fact that many perks need to be replaced in order for the item to get upgraded.

item upgrader kit level is a commonly used measurement of power and is visible on all item tooltips. It also serves as a gating requirement when queueing for dungeons, scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is restricted to the lower levels). The average level of the item is listed on the character sheet.

When deciding whether to buy or sell equipment, players can compare the levels of the item. It's a sign of the item's condition and quality. Comparing items in a vendor's stock is possible using the item level.

The item level can be seen by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the full description of the item, including its value. It can also be found by hovering an item with the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are various theories on how the item level calculation is done. One theory suggests that the level of an item is calculated using a formula that calculates the worth of an item's stats actually are. It is based on the fact that different perks are valued differently, and that gems found in sockets increase the item's value. This can lead to an item's ilvl which is calculated and is typically very close to Blizzards actual item level.

However, this is not the only factor that can affect an item's ilvl since the size of the area the item was dropped in could change the value of its stats, such as by adding a level to its haste rating or crit rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have higher the ilvl than items from lower level instances.

Item Stats

Item stats can determine the fate of an item for players. The game utilizes them in many ways to encourage players to not restrict themselves to a particular weapon and to encourage players to experiment with other weapons. The stats of a base weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat modification, which are themselves boosted by the player's level.

Item upgrades add to that by increasing certain stats on the item. The rarity of an item determines the upgrade cost. An item that is white or grey for instance, will only be upgraded once, while an item that has rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times with more expensive costs.

Another method of altering the stats on an item is through affixes. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and are available in all shapes and sizes. The affixes are used to give items additional damage or special capabilities (such as reviving dead or reducing cooling downs) or to distinguish them by putting a name on them.

All affixes can be currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade menu pressing the green button. It will cost a set amount of gold and other items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges as with other methods of rerolling.

In addition to the possibility of rerolling affixes, players may also choose which of the available stats they want to keep on an item after it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges of an item are determined by the item level, but every item is guaranteed to have at minimum one stat within that range, unless it's a unique item or a God roll from a boss in a raid.

Another thing that could be changed is the possibility to upgrade equipment without having to reroll attachments, or pick which stats to enhance. However, as with the base equipment, this would have to be done on a per-item basis and the item compare interface would not display all the possible stats gained or lost at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player boosts the probability of obtaining items and the properties that are spawned by loot and the strength of these properties. However, it doesn't directly affect damage or ability to upgrade items. It simply gives the player a possibility to obtain better equipment in earlier waves, and is therefore more useful in the initial game run than in later ones, since most players prefer more powerful weapon scaling and defenses over damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chance of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chances, which increase with each item level. These can also be increased with the use of anti-materials such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons have an initial Luck value of 40. These items can then be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to give +40 Luck or to boost the existing Luck of the item up to 140.

Additionally some items, like the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow can be used to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items can be found in the shop or created with the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Item upgrades are a costly process and not all upgrades will be successful. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to increase their success rate or prevent them from losing an item in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful.

The success rate of an upgrade can be seen in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special Materials. The percentage of success can only be increased by so much, and the chance that an upgrade will fail can't be greater than 100%..

The luck of an item can affect the success of an upgrade item. Each item has an initial success rate of 25%, and every item that has Luck increases that chance by 5percent.

The item upgrade overlays are rendered above items in the inventory. This may obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
